Jim Egenrieder, Director, Qualcomm Thinkabit Lab, Virginia Tech

Dr. Jim Egenrieder specializes in teaching and learning of technical subjects at all levels of education.  He serves on Virginia Tech's Research Faculty in Engineering and Education and is the Director of Technical Education and Workforce Development in the Greater Washington, D.C. Area. 

He is also on the teaching faculty in the Graduate School’s Center for Leadership in Global Sustainability, and a regular Principal Investigator for STEM Education Workforce Pathways research for the university’s Center for International Research in Education and Development. 

Most recently he became affiliated with Virginia Tech's BRain-Inspired Computing, Communication, and Security Lab (AI and Chip Manufacturing - BRICCS @VT) and Virginia Tech's new Smart Construction Research Center.
