Cindy Anderson,

NASA PAO/Press Secretary
Cindy Anderson is a communications leader with more than 15 years of experience leading strategic initiatives in industries including aerospace, defense, public relations and community relations, as well as an environmental agency.
She recently started with NASA as the PAO/Press Secretary. Most recently, Anderson lead Integrated Public Relations for Northrop Grumman. She joined Northrop Grumman in 2020 in corporate communications following nearly 12 years at The Boeing Company. During her time at Boeing, Anderson managed advocacy communications at the federal and state and local level and directed strategy for employee, media, executive and crisis communications. She also led a team to promote community engagement around Boeing’s economic footprint and investments across the U.S.
In addition to her career, Anderson is also active in the community. She first became involved with Educate Fairfax in 2016 when she led a team of volunteers to assist staff in developing a comprehensive integrated communications plan. The research and plan included many recommendations that were later adopted by the education foundation. Anderson was asked to join the board of directors to continue her commitment to expand the organization’s reach, and to realize her personal commitment to change the name and branding focus to the current day Educate Fairfax. She was asked to join the executive committee in 2020 and board chair in 2022. Anderson is committed to the mission to help ensure that every FCPS student has a path to success.Â
Anderson holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business from the Pennsylvania State University and a Master of Journalism degree from the University of Nevada, Reno.Â
